401k Maximum Contribution for 2012

The maximum contribution employees can make under a traditional, safe harbor or automatic enrollment  401(k) plan has increased from $16,500 to $17,000 for 2012.  Traditional, safe harbor and automatic enrollment 401(k) plans can allow additional catch-up contributions in the amount of $5,500 for 2012 for employees aged 50 and over.   IRS Table
